What makes Clash Royale addicting?

What could it be that makes students stare at their phone screens?

They’re actually playing an addicting mobile video game called, “Clash Royale.” Clash Royale is a free-to-play real-time strategy video game developed and published by “Supercell.”

Clash Royale is a tower rush video game, which pits players in games featuring two or four players. The objective is to destroy the most opposing towers, with the destruction of the “King’s Tower” being an instantaneous win.

Eli Salazar ‘25 said the game is addicting to him.

“It’s super fast paced and the rewards at the end of a game are so rewarding, and the competition is important because everyone is comparing themselves against which arena they’re in.”

In his opinion, strategy games seem important for our brains because “it helps us a lot in provision, and can also help us in the future with our different jobs,” Salazar said.

This game is so addictive that it’s making some students secretly play in class. It will most likely upset teachers, and will probably cause students to fall behind in their classes.

This game may have some negative effects, but it also has some positive effects as well.

Since this is a strategy game, it can be a way that students can learn strategies in extraordinary situations.

“Strategy helps us with a lot of provision and may be useful for our future jobs that do include strategy,” Salazar said.

In Frank Ceja’s Esports club, this game would definitely be recommended.

Ceja likes to have tournaments and this game has had a bunch of tournaments before. This allows students to play against each other and which specific person to play against.

It’s a smart game, and it’s a tough game. There’s the real sense that the right strategy can topple any player, and there’s satisfaction even in being outsmarted by a talented opponent.

Clash Royale solves the content problem by allowing players to play as much as they want.

After just a few wins that will fill up all four of the chest slots and they won’t be making any progress through the content.

The chests ensure that players feel great at the start of every session.
