Out-of-the-Ordinary Thoughts is a new series created by Rebecca Salinas. It is a humorous column showcasing students’ colorful personalities.

Diego Castro ’24 has many random and out-of-the-ordinary thoughts, like the things he thinks of to say or do throughout his day. He does tend to get lost in his thoughts and space out.

He thinks about what he’s going to wear, what he’s going to buy, what shoes he wants, random questions, random foods or imagines himself as Spider-Man.

“Sometimes I’m in the halls and I just imagine, if I were Spider-Man what would I do?” he said.

“I think of myself performing music or dancing like Michael Jackson.”

“I think about how many animals I can fight all at once. I think I can take on five big dogs.”

“What would you do if you walked into your room and it was made out of meat?”

“If you could freeze time, what’s the first thing you would do?”

“I just look at people and I wonder if I could take them on in a fight.”

Castro explains his motto, something he lives by to make sure he lives life to the fullest.

“I live by YOLO (you only live once),” he said. “That’s my motto.”

Castro does not act on many of his thoughts because “I can’t just go around fighting people,” Castro said. Besides that, he does wear outfit ideas, eats things he’s thought about, and some things he’s going to say.

“I always think of what I’m going to say hours before I even talk to the person.”

“I always get tempted when I see a classroom door open, I just want to walk in.”

Late at night, Castro says things he doesn’t mean to say out loud. He thinks and sometimes words accidentally slip out.

Castro admits that thinking so much does affect him negatively.

“Sometimes I think too much and I make myself sad,” he said.

Castro has many negative thoughts and “thrives off negativity.” He usually runs off negativity as he exercises, and makes the most of the sadness.

What are your out-of-ordinary thoughts?
