On the cold morning of December 28, 2020, Dutch Bros Coffee, a popular coffee drive-through on Fred Waring Dr. and Jefferson St., had its grand opening to celebrate the new coffee attraction in La Quinta. are also the first Dutch Bros location in Coachella Valley. 

To follow COVID-19 precautions and keep employees and customers safe, Dutch Bros only serves customers who use the drive-through. They have closed their walk-up window and will keep it closed until they are told safe to open.

Dutch Bros is very popular for its unique offerings and flavors of drinks that are guaranteed to satisfy its clientele’s taste buds. Dutch Bros Coffee is always packed with people wanting to get a taste of the new hype that has La Quinta buzzing. 

Alyson Potter ‘22, who attends Palm Desert High School, said, ”On the first few days of Dutch Bros being open, the line of cars filled the parking lot and overflowed into the Monticello neighborhood.”

Many high school students, like Potter, work at Dutch Bros and they are attracted to the vibe, enthusiasm, and adrenaline, as they are always working and never get bored.

 “I love working at Dutch Bros,” she said. “It’s super fun with an upbeat vibe.” 

While waiting in line at the drive-through, many customers browse the menu through the Dutch Bros mobile app as they wait in turn. The mobile app allows customers to set up a gift, credit, or debit card on the app for a quicker payment process. Customers also earn points and after a certain amount of points are earned, customers are rewarded with a free drink Dutch Bros has a lot to offer so get a taste today.

As the excitement was rising, La Quinta was counting down the days to get their drink. 

Ashley Houdlik ‘21, a student at La Quinta High School, said, “My Dutch Bros experience was magical. I got a Palm Beach tea and it was scrumptious.”

She emphasized great customer service and efficient service.  

“My first Dutch Bros experience was pretty good,” said Nicole Vogt ‘21. “I went with some friends and we were very impressed with how fast the line was going considering all the people there. All of the employees were very upbeat and positive which made it a fun environment to get our drinks from.”
