The LQHS cheer team steps it up

The LQHS cheer team has been getting stronger and stronger every day due to the high level of experience.  Varsity cheerleader Makenna Given (‘19) says, “A lot of the team has really good tumbling because they are from competitive cheerleading.”  Given this advantage, this year is very exciting for the team because they are working on new and more advanced stunts.

As for the Junior Varsity team, head coach, Coach Rock says,Our Junior Varsity is a brand new team with few returners and little experience in the sport. They have worked extremely hard and pushed together to get where they are.” The girls are working hard to be just as dynamic as the Varsity team.

These blackhawks don’t just focus on working to improve themselves. The Varsity cheer squad held a cheer camp for anyone from the ages ?-13. The team worked with the younger girls all week teaching them a routine and cheers to perform at the friday night football game.

You can catch them performing at LQHS home football games and rallies. Watch out for these Blackhawks!
