Band Concert

On Tuesday Dec. 11, the LQHS’s Concert Band and Wind Symphony performed in the LQHS theater. The concert band  played “Abington Ridge Overture” by Ed Huckeby featuring Joseph Herrera-Molina (‘22) with a trumpet solo, “Little Suite for Band” by Clare Grundman which included “Prelude,” a ballad with trumpet solo by Jeronimo Castro (‘22) and other classic numbers.

Afterward, the wind symphony took the stage and performed “Ride” by Samuel R. Hazo with a saxophone solo by Gannon Gardner (’19) and “Christmas Through the Looking Glass” by D. Lovrien with a clarinet solo by Melissa Smith (‘19).

Listening to the music you can hear and see how hard they worked to put on a beautiful show for their parents and friends that night. French Hornist Sebastian Rivera (‘20)  stated, “I know we sounded good as a unit for the first concert. There were some bumpy roads [to get here] but there are more concerts to come.” Flutist Melissa Smith (‘19) explained, “I think it went well. Everyone had fun, and that’s what made it great.”
