The Educational Results Partnership and the Campaign for Business and Education Excellence named La Quinta High School an Honor Roll school for the 2017-2018 California Roll.

James S. Lanich, President and CEO of the CBEE, emailed LQHS’ principal, Dr. Wilson, on May 17 to congratulate the Blackhawk community. In his email, Lanich wrote, “After an extensive analysis of student data for every public school in California, La Quinta High was a clear leader in getting students to grade level and beyond.”

Lanich elaborated further in the message to explain that they recognize public K-12 schools that demonstrate “high levels of student academic achievement, improvement in achievement over time, and reduction in achievement gap.” For public high schools, Honor Roll recognition includes measures of college readiness.

Principal Dr. Rudy Wilson said, “This is an honor and recognition which belongs to the teaching staff at LQHS. I truly believe we having a caring and dedicated staff. They want to provide the best opportunities for our students. It is nice to see their efforts get recognized. It obviously helps that we have great students at LQHS.”

LQHS was one of 1,798 public schools in Calif. to receive the Honor Roll recognition.
