April 2017

School News: The Blackhawk Brigade held their annual Brigade Blast. LQHS hosted several schools from all around the valley for a night of good music. Among the attendees were local high schools and middle schools who showcased their talent and material they learned throughout the year.

Local News: Thousands of music fans made their way to the valley for the Coachella and Stagecoach music festivals. Coachella headliners this year were originally Radiohead, Kendrick Lamar and Beyoncé; unfortunately, Queen Bey canceled her set due to her pregnancy, but Lady Gaga came in to save the day. Stagecoach welcomed country fans Dierks Bentley, Kenny Chesney and Shania Twain as the headliners.

National News: Starbucks released the magical Unicorn Frappuccino and people went crazy. The drink was available for five days and several places quickly sold out. It had mixed reviews, but there’s no denying that it looked pretty good.

International News: Au revoir, François Hollande! France held the first round of their presidential election. None of the candidates received a majority of the votes; therefore, the election was pushed back to May 7, when Emmanuel Macron beat out Marine Le Pen, receiving 66.1 percent of the votes.
