Ms. Douglass

Former English and AVID teacher, Ms. Amy Douglass spent 13 years at LQHS. She currently works as a counselor at Indio High School, concentrating on intervention practices to help some students refocus on their education. “I will definitely miss the staff, especially those I have been with for so long. I will miss the AVID Class of 2020 and familiarity,” she said. Douglass hopes to have “help[ed] create a kinder and more peaceful school community” during her time at LQHS. She takes pride in inspiring some of her debate students to enter professions involving debate, after coaching the team for eight years. Lastly, “at the very least,” she added, “I know that more people are aware of the Oxford comma because of me.”
